Introductory courses are taught in two segments.
The first segment is 3 hours of didactic education. Covered topics include basic and advanced theory, factors contributing to aging, client proficiency in facial assessment and consultation, common indications for neurotoxins, contraindications, warnings and potential complications. During this segment all pertinent pharmacology information on Dysport®, Botox®, Juveau® and Xeomin® is taught along with how to handle and prepare neurotoxins. Participants will learn proper injection techniques that reduce side effects and increase predictability of results using neurotoxins.
The second segment is 3 hours of hands on training with live models. During this segment participants will establish confidence through supervised consultation, assessment and treatment of models with neurotoxins. The importance of good medical photography will also be discussed. At the end of this segment participants will be given the opportunity to demonstrate basic proficiency in the didactic and hands on training of neurotoxins. Once demonstrated, a certificate of course completion will be issued. This certificate places you among the elite in your field and serves as tangible recognition of meeting your personal and professional goals. MAAI will help you get there with the knowledge and tools needed.
Should any participant fail to meet the completion criteria on the day, they will be invited to attend further training in order to continue to build their skills to the required level. (This would be at an additional cost to the participant). Courses are designed to provide participants with the best possible chance of passing the training course the first time. Some anatomy review and theoretical learning is required in advance of the day of the course.
